CHICAGO - July 2, 2014 - PRLog -- Build Abroad, an organization focused on construction volunteering, today announced its expansion to Guatemala and Peru. Launching in Costa Rica this past March, Build Abroad has already helped those in need by focusing on socially conscious construction services that align with the needs of developing communities.

Those participating in the Build Abroad program have the ability to volunteer for 1-4 weeks in Central or South America and have the option to extend their trip. During an average week, volunteers work between three to four hours a day with the remaining time and weekends to explore nearby destinations.

“Millions upon millions of people around the world are living without adequate shelter or are homeless,” said Chad Johnson, co-founder of Build Abroad. “We are looking to facilitate a change in these countries by bringing in volunteers to help build and repair communities.”

Build Abroad plans to broaden its list of destination countries in the year 2015, as well as become the leader in construction volunteering trips.

“Our goal for 2014 and 2015 is to strengthen our program and development of our already established locations,” said Pat Mcloughlin, co-founder of Build Abroad. “It is our hope that helping other countries develop will inspire people to become a part of a global society,”
