The Domestic Renewable Heat Incentive is available for anyone who can meet the joining requirements. The domestic Renewale Heat Incentive is a government financial incentive to promote the use of renewable heat for both on and off the grid households
 
MACCLESFIELD, U.K. - July 2, 2014 - PRLog -- Consumers of the domestic Renewable Heat Incentive will receive quarterly patents for 7 years for the amount of renewable heat that the system produces.

Biomass Boilers must provide space heating or space and water heating via a wet central heating system such as radiators. Hot water doesn't include water used to heat a swimming pool or any use of which is not domestic hot water heating.

Eligibility
In order to receive payment, the following criteria must be met:

The end user must be the owner of the heating system and own or occupy the property that the system is in.
The Biomass Boiler must be MCS (Microgeneration Certification Scheme) certified or equivelant.
 The property must have been first occupied before the first commissioning date of the heating system. This is to prevent ghosting envelopers claiming domestic RHI.
Must not be used before the Biomass Boiler's first commissioning date.
If a Biomaass Boiler was installed before the scheme was launched, you must apply before 9 Apri 2015 to be eligible for payments.

Products
Two applications can be made per household, one for a Biomass Boiler or heat pump for space heating or space heating and hot water and another for a solar thermal panel for water heating.

If a heating system approved under the non-domesic RHI scheme has already been installed, you will not be eligible for Domestic RHI for that heating system, or any other in the same property.

Before applying

Green Deal Assessment must be carried out. If one has already been carried out previously, there's no need to get another one just supply the Green Deal Advice Report number.
Install loft and cavity wall insulation if it's recommended in the Green Deal Advice Report. If this is not possible ten evidence will need to be submitted.
Get an updated Energy Performance Certificate (EPC) to verity loft and Cavity Wall Insulation.

Metering for payments
If you fall into any of the categories below, you heating system will need to be metered:

If there is another fossil-fuel space heating system.
If the Biomass Boiler does not provide 100% of the space heating requirement.
If the property was occupied for less than 183 days of the previous year.

Tariffs
The current tariff rate for Biomass Boilers is 12.2pkWh.

Tariffs are received every quarter and are reduced should the uptake be above the specified amount. Those who installed a renewable heat system before the scheme opened are protected from a tariff reduction and will always receive the original rate.
