WiFi Network in Killarney Convention Centre

The Wireless Ruckus System, which was installed by Integrated Media Solutions, guarantees high performance wireless coverage throughout the Convention Centre and its associated hotels, The Gleneagle, The Brehon, Scotts Hotel and The Travel Inn.

This new system uses patented, state-of-the-art, antennas as access points, each access point can handle 500 users and while there will be 75 access points in action at any one time at the Killarney Convention Centre, this number can be increased as required.

The smart antennas adapt to their environment meaning they can focus and direct Wi-Fi transmissions over the best signal path, automatically avoiding sources of Wi-Fi interference. This extends signal range and ensures consistent and reliable distribution of delay-sensitive multimedia content and services.

This new system also allows for the creation of tailor-made private networks, complete with firewalls, which will allow corporations to set up virtual offices or call centres on site at Killarney Convention Centre. It also has the capacity to live stream high definition video content both to and from conferences and events.
