Tito’s Specialty Foods, now at Whole Foods Greenlife Grocery Asheville

HENDERSONVILLE, N.C. - July 1, 2014 - PRLog -- Asheville’s Greenlife Grocery gave approval for Tito’s specialty foods to stock their fresh local products at their Asheville Store. “We’re really excited to be one of many great local products that Greenlife sells.  For ages our clients have been asking when our products can be found there.  Well, thanks to Shannon Kirshner and Tracy Blankenship at Greenlife, our products are now available. As of Thursday, June 5^th, the following products became available: Jalapeno Hummus, Harmony (Pimento Cheese Hummus) and Pimento Cheese.  We’re also looking forward to the feedback on what our customers want for the next flavor,” explained Tito Micucci, owner and CEO of Tito’s Specialty Foods.

“We’re always looking to support the local community, and to see people’s lives enriched by great fresh food.  Part of our vision is to remind people what ‘local food’ really means, and it’s more than just geography.  We’re not there yet, but our business plan is founded based on a path of social entrepreneurship.  In the near future,  every container we sell will pay for a full meal to be provided to a local at-risk youth.  If every business had our priorities, there would be no hungry children in America, but they don’t, so we’ve got work to do...and we’re starting here in Asheville, NC.”

Known for their hummus, the company has continued to broaden their product range along with restaurants and retail locations where their products are available.   Their approach to the best ingredients as the foundation for their fresh, no preservative foods is not only refreshing, it tastes great.

A new seasonal product they released just for the spring was their “Garlic Ramp” hummus. With a very short ramp season, people began purchasing it in quantities to freeze at home.  More seasonal varieties are underway, and Tito says, “Don’t hesitate to get in touch with requests.”
