Vectir 3.5 Is Released Featuring New HTPC Remote Control Features
Incendo Technology has released Vectir 3.5, the latest version of their PC remote control software complete with new HTPC remote control features.
A new system power remote control is included with Vectir 3.5 which gives users new remote shutdown and power monitoring options. The Vectir Remote Control mobile app gives HTPC users quick access to remote shutdown, restart, hibernate, sleep and lock commands. A battery monitor is also included to keep track of power usage on systems running off a battery or UPS. Additionally, a monitor power command has been included for remotely turning the computer monitor off and on.
The remote profile designer in Vectir 3.5 has also been updated to give HTPC users more options when designing custom remotes. It is now possible to load sub-remotes from custom remotes. For devices with smaller screens, custom commands can now be overflowed into sub remotes. Button commands have also been updated with new text rendering and positioning options.
For users requiring VLC remote control on their HTPC, Vectir 3.5 ships with a new VLC remote profile updated to give quick access to movie menu navigations commands in a sub-remote. None of the web based VLC remote controls give access to these commands.
All of the media player remote control profiles in Vectir 3.5 have been updated with new HTPC remote control features. The file browser linked to the VLC, Windows Media Player and Winamp remote controls has been updated with a new feature to open media files in the correct application for the remote. This feature overrides the default Windows program linked to the file type.
