Buckhead Young Republicans Complete U.S. Senate Straw Poll

ATLANTA - June 30, 2014 - PRLog -- The Buckhead Young Republicans completed a U.S. Senate straw poll at the Saturday, June 28, 2014 Fulton County GOP annual BBQ event. The straw poll was cosponsored with Atlanta Young Republicans and included volunteers from both YR clubs administering the poll. A total of 197 votes were cast.

Congressman Jack Kingston received 67.5% of the vote over David Purdue. Both Kingston and Perdue were speakers that presented to attendees of the BBQ. They two candidates will officially face each other in the July 22^nd runoff election to determine the GOP nominee for November’s election.

Greg Williams, Chairman of BYR, comments, “We were excited for the strong turnout of the Senate straw poll. With the run-off nine weeks after the primary it is important to keep voters engaged and ready to turn out to the polls for the Senate race, State Superintendent race and various other local races. BYR is working on several opportunities to help promote voter turnout in the coming months leading up to Election Day in November.”
