Greek Myths and Vampires Unite in New Romantic Fantasy Novel
When Fate decrees that the long sought for soulmate of the Dark-Soul, Crown Prince of the Cruetians is a young female human, the prince believes a mistake was made in Ann Marie Kazutomi’s new fantasy novel, “Darkness Falls: Magikos Alliance.”
For 800 years, Alexander Valerius Maximus has sought his Amara—his true love. Finding her is the only way he can end the curse his people have suffered under for 800 years, pronounced by his wife who betrayed and then cursed him just before her assassination. As Crown Prince of the Cruetians and leader of the Magikos Alliance, Alexander is duty bound to save his people, but only recently has he found hope when a prophet tells him his Amara is human, born in 1986, and named Kara. As an ancient being, Alexander never bargained to love a modern-day human female, but he sets about trying to woo Kara anyway.
Kara Spencer will be a handful for Alexander. She is a street smart, college graduate, cynical about love. The last man who could interest her is the vampire-looking creature who shows up saying he’s 2300 years old. And his demanding, chauvinistic attitude and his line about their being soul mates only makes matters worse.
But for some unexplainable reason, Kara finds herself irresistibly drawn to Alexander, and she comes to believe his story once it is apparent that Alexander has enemies seeking to harm her and prevent the curse from being lifted. Kara will need to overcome her modern-day prejudices, accept Alexander’s protection and assist him in battling his enemies, and hope he can overcome some of his chauvinistic attitudes if there is to be any hope for them and for his people. And all this needs to happen quickly before darkness falls upon everyone.
“Darkness Falls” takes readers on a timeless love story filled with ancient history, Greek and Celtic mythology, vampire lore, romance, adventure, and plenty of humor as its unlikely lovers learn how to get along in a dire situation. Reader Views reviewer Jennifer Haas says, “‘Darkness Falls’ by Ann Marie Kazutomi had some dramatic effects on me. Not only was I sucked in and glued to the pages right from the start, but this story also invaded my dreams.” Readers of “Darkness Falls” should prepare themselves for an all-consuming love story like never before.
