Action Wood 360 Announces New Michigan State Grant For Compromised Lithium Ion Batteries

CLINTON TOWNSHIP, Mich. - June 25, 2014 - PRLog -- Action Wood 360 is excited to announce that they are in the final stages of getting approved for a state of Michigan grant, allowing them to manufacture a specialty container designed to ship compromised lithium ion Batteries.

This special project given by the state is a collaboration between Action Wood 360, and fire suppression company LithFire-x.  LithFire’s responsibility in the project is to engineer the internal fire proofing, while Action Wood is responsible for the design of the dunnage, and shipment hardware.

One of the reasons this project is receiving so much attention is due to the safety concerns that arise once a lithium ion battery has been in an accident or compromised in any other way.

Action Wood 360 presented the box at the MMTC Trade show last week, and received an overwhelming positive response from manufacturers from around the country.

Several OEM’s have approached LithFire-x regarding the project however it is still in the prototype stages.

Both Action Wood 360 and LithFire-x hope to have the project shipped out to their first OEM next month so they can start to safely ship these compromised batteries.
