Unlimited Management Group Gives Back at Local Food Bank

SAN ANTONIO - June 25, 2014 - PRLog -- Four Unlimited Management Group team leaders dedicated part of Father’s Day 2014 to serving meals to families in need near their home office in Leon Valley, TX. Melissa, the company’s director of operations, believes giving back in this way was especially important because programs available through the San Antonio Food Bank change lives for the better. “This isn’t just a soup kitchen where homeless people get fed,” she said. “The food bank here is more of a housing facility that also offers job training. All the people we served food to lived there, and it was amazing for us to see what a difference the food bank is making.”

The need for food assistance rises during the summer when children whose parents are out of work or without permanent residences no longer have access to free school breakfasts and lunches. That made the contributions from Unlimited Management Group especially welcome.

Melissa explained that she appreciated this volunteer opportunity because, “I was a health care major, and I really value offering services that create overall benefits for people’s lives. In a real way, what the food bank does is like what we do at Unlimited Management Group by helping people in multiple ways become aware of available opportunities and letting them take advantage of the chances they have.”

Committing to Community Service at Unlimited Management Group

At the San Antonio Food Bank, the company’s group worked on the front line, filling lunch trays for adults and children.

“As we were leaving,” Melissa recalled, “the volunteer director, Becky, said she hoped to see us again, and we all told her that we would love to come back. We are very busy with work, but we plan to make this a reoccurring office event to show that we really are devoted to our local area. It’s such a rewarding experience.”

“I know serving meals at the food bank helped my team bond greatly,” said Melissa. “One of the women who volunteered just joined the Unlimited Management Group team, so she got a chance to see us being ourselves and being much more relaxed outside the office. She loves working with the community, so it was great to show her that giving back is important to our company, as well.”
