He fought for 14 years struggling with illness from a parathyroid tumor that was undetectable causing the loss of his stomach to cancer that did not have to happen. After a long battle, recovering with problems that were left from the surgery he was left bankrupt. This caused the deterioration and collapse of 1855 farmhouse he was trying to save. Water damage destroyed the roof collapsing most of the home.
