Boston Foundation presents portrait series featuring Mayor Marty Walsh and other Leaders of Today a
Boston, MA — The Boston Foundation, ArtPlace, and Uphams Corner Main Streets have collaborated to highlight a diverse group of individuals. Nixon Peabody and Duplessy Foundation are hosting an Exhibition Tour Kickoff + Portrait Reveal for the series on Wednesday, June 25th from 6-8pm.
The “Leaders of Today and Tomorrow” photo series highlights 10 community driven people with a purpose, including elected officials like Mayor Marty Walsh and Economic Development Chief John Barros to jazz musician Fred Woodard. Some of these include elected officials, youth, local residents, and business owners. The series will culminate with a portrait exhibition tour through 2014.
The Identifying Leaders of Today and Tomorrow highlights a diverse group of individuals, some in position of influence, and some “undiscovered,”

About the Artist: Jaypix Belmer is a documentary photographer who captures the “visual soul” of her subjects. Originally from Dorchester, she focuses on the unconsidered people and places in our everyday lives. She has two documentary photography books HIPHOP (How I Photograph Helps Other People) and B.I.R.D. (Building Individuals Reconstructing Dorchester) Street. She is a proud graduate of the New England Institute of Art.
