NESTA Sees Growing Demand for Qualified Personal Trainers

The National Exercise & Sports Trainers Association (NESTA) reports a rise in the number of individuals wanting to work with personal trainers.

SAN JOSE, Calif. - June 23, 2014 - PRLog -- The National Exercise & Sports Trainers Association (NESTA) is reporting a growing demand for skilled personal trainers. Though they recognize many contributing factors, the organization believes that the rise is primarily due to the increasing health concerns among Americans.

The latest figures show that two-thirds of all Americans are overweight or obese and the Trust for America’s Health reports that obesity has grown to epidemic proportions and has become one of the country’s most serious health issues.[1] Among the many severe health problems that accompany obesity, diabetes is also rising at sweeping rates.

Because of these and other factors, a number of Americans are finding their way to a local gym and signing up to work with a personal trainer. Many studies have proven that diets and weight loss attempts fail approximately 90% of the time[2]. However, when an individual has a personal trainer, this gives them a respected professional who can provide the necessary encouragement to keep moving forward.  A personal trainer will also hold their clients accountable and this is an important factor in successful weight loss.

President and CEO, Dr. John Spencer Ellis, commented saying, “We are pleased to see that so many Americans are now taking their health more seriously. We’re also excited to be involved in preparing individuals who are interested in this rewarding and lucrative career. Past NESTA graduates are now serving as personal trainers in over 50 countries around the world.”

NESTA is a highly respected organization with members across the globe. They provide top-notch personal training and nutrition instructions, along with mentoring and coaching. Working with Wexford University, they have created a wide range of courses for every level of interest including Associate of Arts, Bachelors, MS, MA, and Doctor of Sport Psychology degrees.
