Saint Monica University Admitted into Council of Independent Colleges
CIC Supports University Leadership & Advances Institutional Excellence
“Saint Monica University considers its membership of the Council of Independent Colleges as a strategic advantage and it will help us position ourselves even better as an American-style international university,”
“In a bid to take advantage of all the opportunities that CIC offers us, SMU has also joined the select number of CIC member institutions participating in the Tuition Exchange Program (TEP),” said Mr. Che Fuhnwe Tanifor, Vice President for International Affairs at SMU. TEP will offer our faculty and staff, as well as their immediate family members, the opportunity to study for free at participating TEP institutions in the United States and other countries. We hope our faculty and staff will benefit from this opportunity.”
“We are pleased to welcome Saint Monica University into the Council of Independent Colleges,” said Dr. Richard H. Ekman, President of CIC. “As an association of nonprofit independent colleges and universities, we have worked since 1956 to support college and university leadership; advance institutional excellence; and enhance public understanding of private higher education’s contributions to society. CIC has been helping member colleges and universities find ways to increase their visibility and providing them with a broad range of initiatives to improve the quality of education and strengthen institutional resources. It is the only national organization today that focuses solely on providing services directly to independent colleges and universities.”
To fulfill its mission, CIC provides ideas, resources, and programs that help institutions improve their leadership expertise, educational programs, administrative and financial performance, and institutional visibility. Member institutions are drawn from across the spectrum of independent higher education, including selective liberal arts colleges, medium-sized private universities, religious colleges, historically black colleges, and single-sex institutions.
