Psyched in San Francisco recruits nine new writers for its Psyched Magazine

Psyched Magazine features over 40 Bay Area therapists writing together with the mission of influencing the public perception of psychotherapy so that it is seen as an ordinary and ongoing part of personal wellness.

SAN FRANCISCO - June 18, 2014 - PRLog -- Psyched in San Francisco, a downtown San Francisco psychotherapy center and publisher of Psyched Magazine, has attracted nine new talented voices to advocate for mental health. Lily Sloane, Molly Howard, Anna Benassi, Michael Loeffler, Jodie Stein, Lea Seigen Shinraku, Christine Canty and Samantha Yugler, all Bay Area psychotherapists, have joined the Psyched Magazine effort to educate the public about the benefits of psychotherapy and its contribution to overall wellness.

Elizabeth Sullivan, a  Psyched in San Francisco founder, writer, therapist and executive editor of Psyched Magazine, has an ongoing commitment to growth and social entrepreneurship in San Francisco. Elizabeth said recently, “We want to rebrand therapy so that all stigma fades and it’s seen instead as a measure of self-respect and a person’s maturity—like getting a personal trainer for your physical health. This is what it really is—a workout for your soul and a path to greater meaning and happiness in your life.”

Advocat and psychotherapist Lily Sloane says “I feel honored to write for Psyched Magazine because I get to take part in a public conversation about how the deep work we do changes lives, including my own. Traditional psychotherapy in a private practice setting can be isolating and cut off from the communities we serve. Psyched Magazine is challenging the status quo by bringing awesome therapist/writers together and reaching out with welcoming arms.”

Molly Howard, new Psyched Magazine contributor says “I am so excited to be a part of this emerging grassroots effort of so many important Bay Area voices (at Psyched Magazine). It's thrilling to have my own voice recognized alongside my respected colleagues, unified around the healing and empowerment of all people.”

Psyched in San Francisco is a psychotherapy center made up of therapists and writers who have come together to build a culture of well-being in the Bay Area by providing: state-of-the-art psychotherapy, a personalized online classroom, and a commitment to community wellness through taking therapeutic principles to the streets. We are on a mission to do some serious consciousness-raising about the benefits of psychotherapy in all its forms, from curing a short-term “mental flu”, to diving into longer- term transformation. Going to see a psychotherapist has a proven return on investment and we want  people who might not have considered psychotherapy before to take advantage of therapy’s very real and tangible benefits.
