Immediate Clinic Shoreline Now Offers Primary Care Services

SHORELINE, Wash. - June 18, 2014 - PRLog -- Immediate Clinic Shoreline, in Shoreline, WA is proud to announce the addition of primary care providers to their urgent care setting. Mahmood Kakar, PA-C, is now taking patients. The clinic opened their doors for business in April of this year.

The Shoreline clinic is responding to increased requests for primary care providers. Their choice of providers was fairly easy, too, according to Kirsten Saint Clair, Director of Business Development. "Many [patients] requested Kakar as a primary care provider," she explains.

Kakar's long-term influence on his patients is a testament to his aptitude for this new role at Immediate Clinic Shoreline. One such patient recognized Kakar eight years after first meeting him when she saw him again in the clinic, and requested at that point that Kakar handle her primary care.

Kakar has had an extensive and varied history as a practitioner in the Seattle area. He's worked at Group Health, Harborview, Virginia Mason Emergency Room, Swedish Emergency Room (Edmonds, WA), and Kaiser Permanente (Vancouver, WA). His background includes urgent care, occupational medicine, orthopedics, internal medicine, family practice, and emergency medicine, as well as experience as a paramedic.

He received training as a physician assistant in the MEDEX Program at the University of Washington, where he also earned an undergraduate degree in clinical and health services, as well as a Masters Degree in health care administration. He's been practicing since 1994.

In addition to his medical life, Kakar has six children and five grandchildren. He is an avid volleyball player and also enjoys hiking and camping. He reads and writes Arabic, and can speak Farsi, Uzbek, Pushtu, and Tajik. He is also president of the Afghan Community of Northern Seattle.

Immediate Clinic Shoreline hopes that the addition of primary care providers like Kakar will give patients more options. If a patient is already familiar with the urgent care setting (as well as the doctors, nurses, and physician assistants there), they may be more likely to seek primary care from that facility, instead of splitting their healthcare between urgent care and another clinic.
