Eight Thousand Baby Boomers Set to Retire

Over the next 18 years nearly 8000 baby boomers are set to retire.
SAN DIEGO - June 17, 2014 - PRLog -- That magical age of 65 is creeping up on nearly 8000 Americans, accoding to AARP.  That's got baby boomers thinking about downsizing.

"The phone is starting to ring," says Chris Spade with Keller Williams Realty San Diego Metro.  "We're getting more calls from people who are thinking about retirement and downsizing."

"Boomers have so many options when it comes to downsizing," says Spade.  "A pudno lot of people are able to sell their home and take the equity and pay cash for their new home.  A new trend people are looking into is a reverse for purchase loan.  Much like a reverse mortgage.. a buyer can take a sizable down and never make another mortgage payment again."

Downsizing also gives people the opportunity to lower monthly expenses while clearing out the clutter, says Spade.

Chris Spade is the President and CEO of Spade Home Made, Inc.  Chris has been selling real estate with his team at Keller Williams San Diego Metro since 2007.  He's ranked in the top 5% of associates in the market center.  Chris is a member of the Agent Leadership Council and mentors new agents who come into the brokerage.
