Shadcore is a hip-hop emcee/songwriter who hails from St. Petersburg, Fl. He quickly began to make a name for himself in the mid 90’s by entering every talent show that he could find with his former group Brutal Funk. His reputation for being a fierce free style emcee grew larger when the radio station WiLD94.1fm came along. In 1999 Shadcore won 3 battles in a row on the station’s Sunday night segment known as “Home Jams”, where listeners called in and rapped live on the air, callers called in to submit their votes. He also was the winner of the first “gotskillz?”
Later, in the year 2001, Shadcore won a brand new car in a jingle-writing contest held by KIA Motors and sponsored by WiLD 94.1fm.
In the year 2005 Shadcore was the runner-up in VH-1’s Freestyle59 competition. Emcees all around the nation had to submit a59 second video of them freestyling. He was also a top 5 finalist the following year.
Shadcore has an A.S. degree in Music Composition and he also is a founding member of St.Petersburg College’s first ever online radio station known as MYRA Radio. He hosts two shows: Cruise Control (R&B)and Hip-Hop Uncovered (Hip-Hop).
