Hualalai celebrates the sweet life – LuxuryBigIsland.com
Four Season Resort Hualalai Historic Ka'upulehu celebrate the sweet life with the return of La Dolce Vita Food Festival for a week-long event last June 9 to 14, 2014.
“La Dolce Vita presents a wonderful chance to experience the best of Hualalai lifestyle with family and friends, with the Big Island’s breathtaking beaches and lush forests and mountains as the backdrop. Hosted by Steve and Chrystal Clifton, the dynamic couple behind Palmina and the Brewer-Clifton wines, La Dolce Vita features tours, cooking classes, and lunch and dinner receptions that make for unforgettable gastronomic adventures.
Guests will be invited to try specialty pizzas grilled at an open-fire by the beach courtesy of Beach Tree’s Chef Angela Kanyon. They will also be taught how to make limoncello and gnocchi, and learn about Italian-inspired desserts, olive oil, and the right wine pairing for seaside fares.
Also included in the La Dolce Vita lineup of activities is a tour to the Hawaii Ocean Science Technology Park as well as WOW Farms, touted to be Hawaii’s best tomato farm. Guests can also visit the Mauna Kea forest, courtesy of Hawaiian Legacy Hardwoods and Four Seasons, and have a chance to plant their own legacy Koa tree to support reforestation efforts along Mauna Kea slopes.
To celebrate wellness, guests can also participate in a fun tournament to kick off the World Cup, get a chance to play bocce ball, do yoga in the Spa’s Waiea Garden, and enjoy a massage in an outdoor spa.
A special Brewer-Clifton Winemaker Dinner in an oceanfront lanai caps La Dolce Vita, featuring first-rate dining and wine pairings at ‘ULU Ocean Grill + Sushi Lounge prepared by Chef Ricardo Jarquin.
In all of the events, La Dolce Vita guests will be treated to the best of Palmina and Brewer-Clifton wines, which are known for excellent-tasting wines made of fine Italian varietals from Santa Barbara, California.
