Sam’s Club and Local Firefighters Join Together to Help Kids

CORAL SPRINGS, Fla. - June 15, 2014 - PRLog -- Good humanitarians, Coral Springs firefighters; Jon S’Dao (Captain), Rob Lubinger (Driver Engineer), and William Glover (Firefighter) recently visited a Coral Spring non-profit organization, Abi’s Place, to help children with Autism and Complex Disabilities overcome their fears of loud noises and equipment used by our first responders.  This visit sparked these caring firefighters to want to help Abi’s Place more with the financial struggles to provide adequate services, supplies, and equipment these children need.  The non-profit organization depends heavily on donations each year to uphold their mission: to nourish and rehabilitate children with Autism and complex disabilities, enhance their lives within society and cultivate independence..

Out of the kindness of her heart, Carol Raffity, store manager of Coral Springs Sam’s Club Store 6637, has joined forces with these men to help create community awareness and in hopes to collect supplies on behalf of Abi’s Place and the children in need.

Therefore, on June 28th, June 29th, July 5th and July 6th at Sam’s Club in Coral Springs, Abi’s Place board of directors, volunteers and staff will be at Sam’s Club collecting supplies and monetary donations to help pay for much needed equipment; such as a working electronic door, computers, toilet paper, paper towels, books, toys, office supplies, disinfecting wipes, and some other bare essentials.  With the help of the community our budget can focus more on provide rehabilitation and advancement opportunities for children with autism and complex disabilities.

Here is your chance to play a part in this wonderful story as it unfolds over the two upcoming weekends! You will be able to join a few of our local firefighters from Station #64 as they volunteer their time to help host a donation drive collecting donations.  Please stop by Sam’s Club, Store 6637 at 950 N. University Drive, Coral Springs, 33071 and drop off a donation.  Join in and become a participant in a story about the community of Coral Springs as it gets behind this local organization to help these special needs kids.
