Governor Pat McCrory officially proclaims 6th North Carolina Week for the Animals June 14-22, 2014!
Through the dynamic week, shelters, and humane organizations across the beautiful state of North Carolina will be hosting life-saving, animal-related events. Fun-filled activities to help animals and become involved is spotlighted all week.

Community leaders, businesses and caring citizens across the state will be joining in to celebrate and help animals. Events include adoption events across the state, low cost & free spay/neuter events, art galley exhibit, R.E.A.D. dog programs in libraries, low cost microchipping, book donations and author signings, blessing of the animals, activities for bird lovers, animal care presentations, horse events, pet food donations, dinner benefit events, farm animal sanctuary events, nature activities, wildlife center outdoor activities, donation drives, dog swims to benefit shelters and therapy animals visiting hospitals and living-assisted homes.
Also included are a salute to our working & military K-9 and handlers, care seminars, educational events and festivals for families to enjoy friendship, food, music on behalf of the always amazing animals.
Precious lives will be saved and exciting new relationships will be built in communities everywhere during the dynamic week. Please note events and activities will be added even through the week.
