Orange the new Black was released on Netflix on July 11, 2013. The show instantly become word of mouth due its shocking vulgarity but conveys a truthful scenario for female inmates for those who walk on the outside of the metal fence. The story began with Piper Kerman a white blonde who has moved on from a dysfunctional relationship, but her past has awakened. Her ex-girlfriend was involved with drug trafficking and was caught and sentence to prison; therefore, bring Piper along with her. As the show progresses the emotional toll of prison begins to affect Piper. Viewers are hooked to Pipers lifestyle in prison due to the astonishing yet horrifying possibilities. Even though the show takes place in a prison, the writers have constructed the show to be a comedy.
