NORTH ANDOVER, Mass. - June 13, 2014 - PRLog -- You don’t have to be Italian to be a fan of the delicious desserts that originate from the heart of the boot. Italy is known for its wine and food, and when it comes to authentic Italian desserts, there is no exception! These classic desserts are just what you need to satisfy your sweet tooth craving, and they become even better when paired with Pazzo Gelato’s own hand crafted treats, creamy gelato and warm and tasty espressos and cappuccinos.

Here is a rundown of some of the most popular traditional Italian treats we carry or plan to carry in the near future!

Tiramisu: Two layers of lady fingers soaked in our own delicious espresso sprinkled with cocoa powder and layered with our hand made mascarpone pastry cream will “pick you up” any time of the day! This hand crafted dessert stands well on its own and even better with a warm espresso or cappuccino on a chilly afternoon. Why not take it over the top and put a scoop of gelato on it? Either way, this dessert will win over your taste buds!

Cannoli: Who doesn’t love an authentic, homemade cannoli? The flaky, crisp shell and sweet, light cream filling make this classic Italian dessert an all around favorite.  It’s so good I’ve even made a gelato inspired by the traditional cannoli filling!

Biscotti: Biscotti, also known as cantuccini, are best served with a fresh espresso or foamy cappuccino to dip the crunchy Italian cookie into. Originating straight from the Italian city of Prato, this dessert will give you a genuine feeling of the charming city itself.

Italian cookies: You’ll most likely find these Italian cookies on platters at holiday gatherings, topped with white icing and colorful sprinkles. This is a perfect dessert for all ages, and the soft cookie paired with a simple vanilla gelato will leave you wondering why you’ve never tried the pair before!

Lobster Tails: Although this decadent dessert isn’t easily crafted, it’s definitely worth the hard work that goes into making it! This flaky, layered pastry is filled with a delicious cream, and yes, you can guess where the name comes from. The dessert is served up in the shape of a lobster tail, but you won’t find any crustaceans in this treat!

No matter the time of day or occasion, desserts are always best shared with friends and family! Want to learn about all of the delicious and decadent treats soon to be offered at Pazzo Gelato?
