OAK LAWN, Ill. - June 12, 2014 - PRLog -- Golfers are invited to hit the links at Park Lawn’s 29th Annual “A Day in the Sun” Golf Invitational Tournament on July 21.  The tournament will be played at Prestwick Country Club, 601 Prestwick Drive,Frankfort.  Throughout the past 28 years, “A Day in the Sun” has raised more than $500,000 towards Park Lawn’s endowment, a fund established to ensure the future success of the organization.

Golfers who participate in Park Lawn’s “A Day in the Sun” golf invitational will enjoy a barbeque lunch with registration beginning at 10:30 a.m.  The shot gun start will begin at 12:00 p.m.  Throughout the day each golfer will experience 18 challenging and picturesque holes of golf with cart and caddy, cocktail reception, dinner, raffles and awards.

Park Lawn’s “A Day in the Sun” golf outing is sponsored by Topline Automotive Engineering, Inc. of Chicago.  Additional sponsors include The Lombard Company, Maury Barger honoring his daughter Terry, Mobility Works, Charlie Gardner and Patti Eylar, and Chase Bank. Sponsorships are still available.

Park Lawn provides services that promote independence, choice and access to community living for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities. Services include: adult developmental training, vocational services, supported employment, residential opportunities, and recreational activities. Founded in 1955, by a small group of parents, today over 200 individuals are enrolled in Park Lawn’s programs. These individuals have the opportunity to pursue a life of productivity, independence and happiness the same as any other individual.
