By: crj services The case study is one where CRJ has recently been working for an Energy Recovery Facility (ERF) that produces electricity from household waste. The burning process produces a ‘bottom ash’, which can then be recycled further and used as an aggregate material in the construction industry. The challenge faced was to remove any remaining metal contamination from the bottom ash, in order to produce a higher quality ash and recover any value from the separated metal. CRJ assisted by supplying a trommel screen with magnets on the rear and fines conveyor belts to clean up the bottom ash and remove the ferrous metal, giving our customer the end products they required. There is also a feature on summer being the peak hire season for green waste recycling. CRJ feature their manned high speed shredders hire, available to hire for green, wood and biomass operations. Their experienced operators take the hassle out of shredding stock piles by loading, operating and maintaining the shredders themselves, leaving their customers free to focus on other parts of their operation.
