Alpine Music Fest Offers Cool Temperatures and Great Music

PHOENIX - June 11, 2014 - PRLog -- Resident volunteers of the town of Alpine are staging their 2nd annual music festival in the heart of the Alpine community

to encourage visitors to enjoy an area that was devastated by the 2011 Wallow Fire.

WHO:         Resident volunteers, Alpine Chamber of Commerce and local Businesses

WHAT:        Alpine Country Blues Festival featuring 10 bands.

WHEN:       Friday 7:00pm -10:00pm and Saturday 11:00pm -10pm, June 20th and 21st, 2014.

WHERE:     Melody Field on Highway 180, 2 blocks east of Junction 180 and 191.

VISUALS:    Vendors including beer and wine garden, concert fans, 10 bands, motorcycle enthusiasts, National Forest backdrop.

Concert promoter and local Alpine business owner Terry Fillipi says “this year’s line-up of 10 bands is sure to provide music for everyone’s tastes.”  Noting that after the 2011 Wallow Fire commerce and tourism has been slow to regain momentum, but she says “residents and businesses in Alpine are forming an alliance to stage events in the While Mountain Region that brings people back to one of the most scenic and serene areas of all of Arizona.”

The Wallow Fire, named for the Bear Wallow Wilderness area where the fire originated, was the biggest fire recorded in Arizona.  Mrs. Fillipi said that “the residents are encouraging concert goers to help put the White Mountains back on the map again, this time through music.”

Volunteer coordinator Rusty Childress is inviting motorcycle riders from around the state to attend this years event also.  "The Arizona's Coronado Trail scenic byway AKA "Devil's Highway" achieved high ranks by the American Motorcycle Association for being one of top rides in the U.S. and is one the twistiest roads in America with over 1000 switchbacks with an elevation change of over 6000 feet.  We are encouraging people to ride this scenic byway at their leisure on Sunday and doing a 250 mile loop back through New Mexico, making it a truly a magnificent ride,” he said.

Gates open Friday night at 6:30pm with Arizona Blues favorites Hans Olson and Chuck Hall Band until 10:00pm.  The music resumes Saturday morning with gates opening at 10:30am for a full day of music.

Saturday’s featured bands include the Andy T Nick Nixon Band, Shari Rowe Band, Harlis Sweetwater band and more.
