By: ‘art place berlin’ It is not possible for me to put into words the makings of my inspiration and creativity, but I can say that my work has been influenced by the Impressionists of Europe and by the Abstract Expressionists of America. They eliminate the boundaries of convention and allow the creative spirit to run free. My work with palette knife is like sculpting on canvas with all the means of expression and form it offers. Art is long and time is fleeting, but to quote Shakespeare: David Snider was born in Boston, Massachusetts in 1950 and grew up in New England and Florida. He studied English and American Literature at the University of Massachusetts, the University of Leeds/UK and at the Albert-Ludwig- Subsequently, he took a BA (Hons) Degree from the Winchester School of Art/UK in 1998, since which time he has actively engaged his passion for painting. ‘My work emerges from an imagination that draws upon the memories and themes of my youth in America and the many paths I have taken in my life.’ – David Snider ’Sands of Time’ – paintings by David Snider, June 20th – September 7th, 2014 ‘art place berlin’ – forum for contemporary art at the Park Inn Berlin-Alexanderplatz, Alexanderplatz 7, 10178 Berlin, daily 9am – 9pm, entrance free End
