Benefits of Drive-In Pallet Storage Systems

MAPLE GROVE, Minn. - June 10, 2014 - PRLog -- If your current pallet rack system seems to be inefficient or insufficient, or if it doesn't exist at all, it might be time to evaluate your storage needs and consider implementing an entirely new pallet rack storage system.  Different storage systems cater to different needs, and no two warehouse's needs are identical.  However, there are certain common criteria used to determine which type of storage system would be most applicable in a given situation.  If your warehouse consists of a large number of products but lacks product variation, there's a good chance it would behoove you to invest, or perhaps research and consider investing in a drive-in pallet storage system.

Drive-in pallet systems are ideal if your warehouse carries a lot of product volume, but only a small number of different types of products.  This is because drive-in systems are first-in-last-out (FILO) systems, meaning that, once you store a pallet, it will be difficult to access it due to the obstruction of other pallets stored in front of it.  Therefore, the warehouse that stands to benefit most from a drive-in system is that which stores an inventory that is not time-sensitive.
