CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. - June 9, 2014 - PRLog -- Applied Video Imaging, a provider of rugged video products for airborne, ground, and marine surveillance missions, introduced its new Q0101 rugged Quad Video Processor.  The standalone unit combines up to four analog and DVI video inputs into a single 3-G SDI or DVI High Definition video output.  This allows mission operators to view all sensor video at the same time on their display.

The Q0101 has a flexible configuration capability that supports numerous presentation modes for combining input video including independent image rotation, input scaling, and output scaling.  The Q0101 handles almost any video format for both inputs and outputs.  Supported resolution formats include NTSC/PAL, 525i, 720p, 1080i and 1080p, and all analog and DVI resolutions from VGA (640x480) through UXGA (1920x1600).  Output formats from the SDI channel include SMPTE 259M, 292M, 274M, 296M, and 425M (1080p60Hz).

Each input channel is completely independent and can be set to various video resolutions and formats.  The output channels are also independent from the input channels allowing up or down scaling, accommodating unique display requirements.

Selectable and dynamic presentation formats include full screen view of any of the four video inputs, side-by-side, and various quad configurations.  With individual image rotation, the Q0101 provide up to three simultaneous video sources in portrait mode. http://appliedvi.com/avi-products/video-processors

Control of the Q0101 is provided by AVI’s Open Command Protocol via USB or RS-232 directly from AVI’s various Display and Controller products. http://appliedvi.com/avi-products/video-displays In a fixed configuration, this capability can be added to any existing display.  Dynamic control can be added to any existing display using AVI’s DUZ mounted controller.  AVI’s Open Command Protocol can also be easily embedded in customer’s systems for seamless integration.

“AVI’s new Q0101 rugged Quad Processor brings a new level of optimization to the display of mission system video sensors,” said Bruce Carriker, President and founder of AVI.  “Not only can our customers view all of their video sources at the same time, they have the option to use the display in either landscape or portrait mode based on their space and placement requirements.  This is unique in our industry.”

Designed and tested to DO-160 standards, AVI’s rugged Q0101 Video Quad Processor accepts 9 – 36 volts DC power.  The unit is designed for use in airborne law enforcement, ground systems, marine law enforcement and defense surveillance applications. Testing includes applications with helicopter displays, fixed wing aircraft displays, and other aerial surveillance installations.  Based on video industry standards, it can be used with any video source and any video display.
