LANSING, Mich. - June 9, 2014 - PRLog -- Last week, thousands of industrial hygiene, safety and occupational health professionals from across the globe converged in Texas for the 2014 American Industrial Hygiene Conference & Exposition (AIHce).  The premier annual conference for the industrial hygiene profession began on the last day of May and officially concluded on June 5th.

Lynn O’Donnell, CIH, Executive Director at ABIH, was in San Antonio along with other members of ABIH’s staff and volunteers.  “AIHce 2014 was once again a great place to be for anyone involved in the industrial hygiene profession,” she stated.  “The conference is always an ideal time for ABIH to establish new relationships with professionals interested in pursing the CIH credential as well as reconnecting with all the CIHs who were able to attend this year. It was also a special time for me as I prepare to hand the torch to ABIH’s incoming CEO, Ulric Chung, MCS, PhD, in less than a month.”

In addition to exhibiting in the expo hall, ABIH staff members took part and supported many conference activities.  Events included the ABIH Board Meeting, hosting the ABIH Forum, presenting at the Jeffrey S. Lee Award Lecture: A 30+ Year Perspective on Certification, and participating in such educational sessions as Perspectives on Preparation for the CIH Exam v9.0.   ABIH also sponsored a Mentoring Program Networking Event which was open to all participating members of AIHA’s Mentoring Program, as well as to students and professionals interested in becoming a mentor or having a mentor.

Those attending the conference had the opportunity to network with peers, increase their knowledge, learn about new developments at ABIH, and earn important CM credits towards maintaining their CIH certification.
