Kalu, the protagonist opens a yoga school in Madrid and faces the interrogations from Franco's intelligence dept. for opening what they think a voodoo school. Kalu saves money to come back to India. As he visits his motherland after nearly 25 years, he finds gaping changes in his joint family, society and Marxist-ruled West Bengal. This novel is a celebration of the lost magical world of childish pranks and the piquant pleasures in the fifties. Sex, Sonagachi, Frnaco's Madrid, etc etc are all rolled into one here...
