ETOBICOKE, Ontario - June 5, 2014 - PRLog -- The provincial leaders’ debate has been scored as a victory for Tim Hudak and the Ontario PC Party.

Sean Simpson, Vice-President of Ipsos-Reid, said their polling of close to 2000 Ontarians after the debate has Tim Hudak clearly winning. People gave Tim Hudak 37% support while Kathleen Wynne only received 27% with Andrea Horwath close at 26%.

What mattered most in the poll was support for the best policy ideas.  A strong 36% of people liked the PC plan, compared to 31% for the NDP plan and only 28% for the Liberals.

“The people of Etobicoke Centre are tired of the last 11 years with the Liberal government. All the scandals combined with higher taxes and higher hydro rates have people wanting change,” stated Pina Martino, PC Candidate for Etobicoke Centre.

We find ourselves at a pivotal point in our time as a province - one that is demanding of change.

The numbers stand out for themselves - a $12 billion yearly deficit, 800,000 people without a job, 300,000 manufacturing jobs lost since 2003 - to name a few. Ontario, once the strongest economy in Canada, now depends on federal help to pay its bills. Taxes have gone up and wasteful spending - like the gas plant cancellation - has plagued the current government for too long.

What does that mean closer to home? Seniors can't make ends meet, with rising energy costs and fewer services like the home care they need. Students are graduating with no options for a job in sight. And parents working long hours, push to make it home to see their kids, while fighting relentless gridlock.

Etobicoke Centre Local Liberals Know They Can’t Balance the Budget, Pina Martino and the Ontario PCs Have the Plan

June 2, 2014 – The Etobicoke Centre local liberals are having a hard time explaining how they can continue to tax and spend and still balance the budget like they say they are going to do.

In a May 7, 2014 article for the National Post, former Liberal Finance Minister Dwight Duncan challenged his own party and their impossible promise they are making. The article titled Ex-Liberal finance minister warned his party that deep spending cuts are needed to balance Ontario budget, goes on to say that the Liberals have “fattened the deficit, leaving Ontario with an annual hole of $12.5 billion this fiscal year.”

“We know that the Liberal government has no real plan to pay off the deficit by 2017-2018. We know it, you know it and Dwight Duncan knows it,” stated Pina Martino, PC Candidate for Etobicoke Centre.  “We have a choice to make, continue to let the Liberals bankrupt this province, or start the path to economic recovery,” she continued.
