Based on the interest he received, Stevens decided to move forward and launch Vet Brand Apparel Company on his own and develop working relationships other veterans. “I recruited another veteran to help me create the web presence and found a production shop that is also a veteran owned small business to produce the shirts. It is very important to me to keep this company as veteran connected as possible to showcase the wide reaching skills veterans have”.
The motivation behind Vet Brand Apparel is simple, to create products that veterans, military personnel, and patriotic Americans will revere and show their joy in being a veteran, their involvement with different military campaigns or their love of our country.
With the current state of unemployment in the United States, Stevens sees Vet Brand Apparel as a way to combat the epidemic that is veteran unemployment. “There are too many skilled veterans that are being overlooked for the few positions that are available today. Vet Brand Apparel, to me, is my way of highlighting the immense value and the wide array of talent that lies within the veteran community. Becoming an entrepreneur is the ultimate example of the fortitude of our community.” said Stevens. Vet Brand has plans to find their future employees through the current pool of veterans going to college on the GI Bill. “I have an 11 year marketing background on top of my military service and I still have problems finding employment. If I can do something to help another veteran get a start and help them finish school it will all be worth it.”
Vet Brand Apparel Company is not only focused on making people look good but also help them do good, Vet Brand Apparel has pledged that 10% annually will go back to helping organizations that support combat wounded veterans. “As a company we will always focus on helping those that not only served, but also sacrificed.”
