ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. - June 5, 2014 - PRLog -- Barney’s Motorcycle and Marine of St. Petersburg has partnered with Project Road Warrior Foundation to make possible the inaugural Road Warrior Ride. The Project Road Warrior Foundation is bringing eight United States veterans 3,900 miles across the country (Seattle, Washington to Tampa, Florida) on Can-Am® Spyders® to experience the ride of a lifetime. It was with the help of Barney’s that the organization was able to secure the Can-Am® Spyders® for the ride. All participating riders are members of the United States Special Operations Command Care Coalition – a program that helps wounded veterans heal and regain their independence. The goal of this ride is to raise awareness and funds to support Special Operations Wounded, Ill and Injured.

Their last stop on the journey prior to arriving at their final destination, will be at Barney’s Motorcycle and Marine of St. Petersburg. The community is invited to Barney’s of St. Pete from 12:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m. on Saturday, June 14 for an afternoon of celebration, grilling, and support of the veterans as they make their journey from Jacksonville to Tampa. The finale celebration will be held at Quaker Steak & Lube Pinellas Park (Clearwater), with the group leaving Barney’s at 4:00 p.m. The riding community is invited to ride with the veterans from Barney’s of St. Pete to their final destination. To track the ride from Seattle to Tampa, please visit  projectroadwarrior.org (http://www.projectroadwarrior.org/) and click on the “tracking” tab.

ABOUT PROJECT ROAD WARRIOR

Project Road Warrior was formed in 2013 by veterans looking to make a difference in the lives of fellow soldiers who were injured while serving their country. They acknowledge people don’t necessarily realize how important the aspect of adventure is as a means of rehabilitation. The riders of this event don’t want to be restricted— they want to go out and do something big. “Big” is exactly what Project Road Warrior is, aiming for with their first major event. Learn more about this event and the riders at http://www.projectroadwarrior.org.
