The 2014 Summit is endorsed by Tanzania's Ministry of Transport (MoT) and the Tanzania-Zambia Railway Authority (TAZARA). The meeting will bring together my counterparts from Rwanda, Burundi, Kenya, Uganda, Zambia, Ethiopia and Democratic Republic of Congo amongst others, project investors and developers as well as the most appropriate technologies and innovative manufacturers."

The CEO of the conference-organizing company, Magenta Global Pte Ltd, Singapore, Maggie Tan, added: “Improving transportation and logistics infrastructure is key to the greater economic development of the entire region. With the recent discovery of more mineral potential in some of the countries, the pressure for transportation networks and linkages is more urgent than ever. This Summit will facilitate the exchange of fresh information, present new projects and engage industry stakeholders on viable project models for sustainable development of the transport infrastructure in East & Central Africa.” Ms Tan encouraged all companies and organizations to contribute to the development of this sector by being part of this key event.
