COLUMBUS, Ohio - June 4, 2014 - PRLog -- Buy Local? Sure. Now there is a new way to support our local economy: invest! ECDI, the catalyst for small business growth, is known for their micro finance services to small businesses and entrepreneurial start-ups. Now, anyone who qualifies pursuant to the terms of Offering Memorandum (available upon request) may invest a minimum of $1000, thanks to ECDI's “Invest Local Ohio” fund.

“Almost all of our savings in the U.S. - CDs, money market portfolios, IRAs, pension funds – is invested in fortune 1000 companies and the global economy,” said Chuck Lynd, Chair of the Support Our Local Economy (SOLE) Coalition,. “ECDI is providing the opportunity to help shift the paradigm and making it feasible to invest in local small businesses that create 2/3 of all new jobs.”

The Invest Local Ohio fund has been working since 2012. Individual investors in the fund are earning 2% interest for 3 year notes, and 3% for 5 year notes, higher than typical CDs and money market funds. Investors have confidence in the fund because ECDI has a track record of creating a new job every day and a new business every week since 2004.

Simply Living, the founding partner with ECDI in the SOLE Coalition, promotes the fund to its members and organizes informational seminars about the fund that are open to the public. “I am so pleased to know that every dollar I have invested is staying right here in Ohio, and when I learn which companies have received loans, I make an extra effort to buy from them,” said Carol Fisher, an early investor.

The next seminar is scheduled for Monday, June 16. The seminar will be held at ECDI's headquarters at 1655 Old Leonard Avenue and will feature a presentation and Q&A with Steve Fireman, President & General Counsel, ECDI. Light refreshments will be served. The seminar is free but an RSVP is required. Contact Douglas Craven at 614-732-0572 to reserve a seat or email DCraven@ecdi.org.
