WASHINGTON - June 3, 2014 - PRLog -- The National Association of Minority Contractors (NAMC) announced that the U.S. Transportation Secretary Anthony Foxx will deliver the keynote address for the 45th NAMC National Conference, Opening Plenary Session on Thursday, June 19, 2014. The conference will be held at the Gaylord National Resort & Convention Center from Wednesday, June 18 through Friday, June 20, 2014. The theme of this year’s conference is “A Legacy Celebration – New Roads to Excellence.”  This is a signature event to celebrate and salute the legacy, achievements and mission to broaden the scope, scale, footprint and capacity of the diverse construction community.

Secretary Foxx will share his vision for the U.S. Department of Transportation, its strategic direction, and how the minority, women and disadvantaged business enterprises in attendance can benefit. Foxx became the 17th United States Secretary of Transportation on July 2, 2013.

The Secretary joins a long list of influential speakers that will grace the stage and several workshops at the 45th NAMC National Conference. Jim Murren, Chairman & CEO of MGM Resorts International, Denise Fairchild, President of Emerald Cities Collaborative, Peter Gibbs, Deputy Director of the U.S. Small Business Administration’s Surety Bond Guarantee Program, Senator Ruth Hassell-Thompson, State of New York, Zenita Wickham Hurley, Special Secretary Minority Affairs, State of Maryland, U.S. Congressman G.K.
