Brenda Sauer Designated Fellow, Healthcare Access Management (FHAM)

 
WASHINGTON - June 2, 2014 - PRLog -- The National Association of Healthcare Access Management (NAHAM) has announced that Brenda Sauer, CHAM, Director of Patient Access at New York Presbyterian Hospital, has been awarded the prestigious designation of Fellow, Healthcare Access Management (FHAM).

The NAHAM Fellows Program recognizes proven leaders in the profession who have made outstanding contributions to NAHAM and the field of patient access services. In order to be considered for Fellow status, candidates must have held a leadership role in NAHAM at the national level as an officer, regional delegate, or committee chair or at the affiliate level (state, regional) as president.  Additional qualifying criteria include active membership in NAHAM, a Bachelor’s degree (minimum) in health care, management or other related field, CHAM certification, presentation at the NAHAM Annual Educational Conference & Exhibition within the past three years, and publication in a national journal.

“Brenda exemplifies the qualities that we seek in a Fellow,” said NAHAM President Yvonne Chase. “Her commitment both to NAHAM and to the advancement of Patient Access make her an invaluable asset to the profession.”

In addition to her CHAM credential, Sauer holds a B.S.N. from the University of Vermont and an M.A. in Nursing Administration from New York University. Sauer is currently the immediate past president of NAHAM. She previously served as a member of the board of directors in the positions of chair of the government relations committee, chair of the publications committee, vice president, and president.  Her current volunteer position with NAHAM makes her the chairperson of the 41st Annual Conference of NAHAM to take place in May, 2015. She has been a NAHAM member since 2001.
