May 29, 2014 - PRLog -- Dear Friends,
I'm reaching out to you personally to ask for your support of the Aviva Annual Event. The luminous Sharon Stone and myself are being recognized for our work with Aviva Family and Children Services. This is a truly remarkable institution dedicated to saving young women aged 13-18 in extremely troubled homes from being trafficked on the streets of LA and other unimaginable family and personal situations. Aviva, in conjunction with Los Angeles County, provides these girls with a beautiful and safe group living environment in Hollywood where they are accommodated with food, shelter, psychological services, and a 24-hour caring and professional staff.
Additionally, Aviva provides a school for the girls that live in the home, as well as many additional girls who, for various reasons, cannot attend a mainstream school. This is a REAL EDUCATION from an accredited, unified LA school, where the graduation rate is a remarkable 96%.
A year ago, a dear friend of mine recruited me to teach film. I've witnessed first hand how exposing these girls to the fundamentals of our industry has impacted them. The girls went on to make three short films with a volunteer professional crew. This whole process evoked so much pride in learning film. In fact, several went on to apply to film school! None of these girls would have this chance if not for Aviva.
Please join me in support of qnuqu this great institution to continue granting these ladies the education, care, compassion and necessities they deserve. It would mean the world to me if you bought tickets, a table, or made a donation of any denomination. You would not only be honoring me but, more importantly, honoring these amazing, talented, driven, and passionate girls who deserve a second chance in life.
Much gratitude,
