U.S. Pain Foundation’s Gileno Honored With Grunenthal USA “Unsung Hero” Award

May 28, 2014 - PRLog -- The U.S. Pain Foundation announced today that President and Founder, Paul Gileno was recently awarded the Unsung Hero Award by Grünenthal USA during a ceremony at the Friar’s Club in New York City.

Gileno was the first recipient of the award and was  recognized for his exceptional work in pain policy initiatives as well as his significant contributions to advance the social awareness of pain and suffering.Gileno was praised for striving to design programs that are informative and relevant to the pain community. As the mastermind behind the Pain Warrior bracelet and one of the visionaries for the INvisible Project, Paul works to empower those living with pain to become proactive and find support. He has been instrumental in passing legislation across the country that ensure patients have access to the medication they need.

“I feel very honored to be recognized in this way,” said Gileno.  “ But all of us at U.S. Pain work hard every day to benefit our patients. “

Nominations for the award were solicited from attendees of last year’s Pain Day networking event and the criteria adopted by the Grunenthal US Pain Advisory Board:  Relevance, Impact, Innovation, Scope of outreach and Commitment as these criteria relate to pain awareness, improvements and advancements in pain policies.
