LAS VEGAS - May 27, 2014 - PRLog -- Private detective Ira Avery didn’t know what he was getting into when he agreed to take on the case of missing photojournalist Savannah Loy. The boyfriend he tussled with has also gone missing, each lead he follows only raises more questions, and in the midst of this all is the aloof Diane Thrax, who seems to be much more than just your average punk rock singer.

The second issue of “neon-noir” comic book series San Hannibal, “The Corpse Broker,” starts with a perplexing murder and ends with a (literal) bang. Brought to life in bold, blue neon strokes by the Portland, Ore.-based duo of writer/artist Dan Schkade and colorist/letterer Jesse Snavlin, San Hannibal #2 continues to break new ground in the noir comic genre, leaving readers just as confused as Avery…and just as hungry for the truth.

The debut issue wowed readers and reviewers alike, and sold out briskly at many stores across the United States and Canada. Joe Patrick and Matt Baum of The Two-Headed Nerd podcast said they “totally loved” the “kick-ass” comic and its “great monochromatic art.” Thomas Zimmer of Comicosity.com called the comic “hard-boiled detective noir done right,” urging readers to “get it.” And Amy Brander of The Frog Queen “recommends it whether you like mystery noir stories or not. It has already sucked me in.”

San Hannibal #2 will be available on June 18 in comic book stores for $2.99, as well as through digital platforms such as DriveThruComics and ComicsPlus for 99 cents. To find a comic store near you, call 1-800-COMIC-BOOK or visit http://www.comicshoplocator.com.
