LOS ANGELES - May 28, 2014 - PRLog -- With Latinos as the fastest growing minority group in the US, it's safe to say that they are also the fastest growing group of television watchers, with 61% aged 18 - 29 consuming English language media.  So it's surprising that there are not more Latino characters being portrayed on screen to better represent the audience. 'Gringa Latina', a new comedic web series is not only filling the gap, but aims to answer the question: how does one define culture?

Born in Colombia but adopted by a white family from Tennessee, sisters Mandy and Lina are as red blooded American as they come. Or aren't they? Having never fit in growing up in Soddy Daisy, TN, they venture to Los Angeles where they hope to learn about their Latino heritage. Equipped with a limited knowledge of the world, and a country accent, they face a slew of challenges while trying to find a place to call home in this fish out of water comedy.

"I wanted to focus on something everyone can relate to" stated show creator and star Vianessa Castaños. "The show is about exploring stereotypes and how cultural awareness is dependent on your environment... but in the most unexpected, funny and sometimes ridiculous way possible".

Produced by award-winning web series producer Allison Vanore,  'Gringa Latina' also stars Krizia Bajos with Michael Anastasia (HULU's Quickdraw) rounding out the cast of series regulars.

With eight episodes in its first season, 'Gringa Latina' will air a new episode each week beginning June 2, 2014 on www.youtube.com/gringalatinashow

Season two is already underway with production slated to begin fall 2014.
