Elmira Artist Julian Raven Travels to Spain on 3 week painting tour

ELMIRA, N.Y. - May 24, 2014 - PRLog -- After recovering from jetlag, artist Julian Raven set out to paint in the spacious display area used by the Sammer Art Gallery at Magna Marbella, in Nueva Andalucia, Marbella.  Not knowing what the distance from New York, the time change and the new environment would have on his art, Raven pressed on to see what he would create.

Andalusia, the region where Marbella is located is drenched in Mediterranean sunlight and this produces an ideal climate for the incredible flora that grows naturally in the area.  From gereaniums to bougainvilias to orleanders to wild poppies.  It is an endless spectacle of sumptuous flowers, that just delighted the eyes of the artist.

In a fury of night and day painting marathons, Raven was able to produce 6 complete works, 3 abstract and 3 landscapes.  Three of which are the most advanced and mature works to date. A couple of which he believes are masterpieces.

At the end of his stay, Raven was able to have a private showing for his works for family and friends at the gallery display area at Magna Marbella.  The results were tremedous as his paintings were welcomed with open arms.

The prestigious international Sammer Art Gallery, located in Puerto Banus, Marbella, run by collector and dealer Sam Benady, now displays the paintings as they wait to be sold.
