Chairman Emeritus of Howard University and CEO of Savage Holdings LLC, Frank Savage and others to be honored

NEW YORK - May 22, 2014 - PRLog -- (7:00–11:00pm), the National Organization for the Advancement of Haitians, New York (NOAH NY) will host its fifth annual Spring Gala at the prestigious IAC Building (550 West 18th Street, NY, NY 10011) designed by renowned architect, Frank Gehry. The event honoring Frank Savage, Chairman Emeritus of Howard University and CEO of Savage Holdings LLC (a global financial services company), will highlight the efforts of NOAH NY’s medical initiatives at Fort Liberté Hospital in Haiti through their work in mitigating ongoing healthcare disparities within the Northeast region of Haiti. Distinguished event sponsors and supporters include Howard University (DC), EDRA (FL), EMEDEX (NY - SUNY Downstate Dept. of Emergency Medicine non-profit), Healthfirst, Haiti Soccer Project and Association pour le Development de Fort Liberté et de ses Environs  (ADFE).

Other notable honorees for the evening include Chairman of the Board at Corinthian IPA, Inc.–Ramon Tallaj, MD; Co-Executive Director at Zanmi Lasante–Loune Viaud; Governor of Maryland’s Commission of Caribbean Affairs–Joseph E. Baptiste, DDS, MAGD, FAAID Commissioner; and Director of the Florida Africana Studies Consortium–Babacar Mbow.

This year’s gala chair, New York Times best selling author, award-winning actor, and Grammy-nominated singer/songwriter, Tyrese Gibson, joins NOAH NY in celebrating the accomplishments of fellow humanitarian and businessman, Frank Savage, who is also the author of the critically acclaimed, The Savage Way: Successfully Navigating the Waves of Business and Life. Lending his advice and expertise as board member to many organizations (Bloomberg L.P., The Philharmonic-Symphony Society of NY, Institute of International Education, and Arab Bankers Association of North America, to name a few), Mr. Savage says that he is honored to represent the men and women of Howard University as a NOAH NY award recipient, and notes that NOAH’s work is important and potentially life changing to many.
