3rd Annual JDRF/LACC Track Day Invitational

JDRF and L.A. Car Connection (LACC) have teamed up once again this year to bring car enthusiasts of all ages together for the 3rd Annual Track Day Invitational at the world famous Willow Springs International Raceway on May 22, 2014 from 8 am to 4 pm. JDRF is the leading global organization focused on funding type 1 diabetes (T1D) research.

LACC clients and guests are invited to take on the course and hit adrenaline-pumping speeds on one of the fastest and most challenging tracks in the country. The historic Willow Springs race track, unchanged from its original 1953 configuration and patterned after the great European courses, has an exhilarating 2.5 mile long road with thrilling elevation changes.  Also known as the Fastest Road in the West, the track is one of the safest road courses in the world, despite its high velocities. Cornering speeds on this track range from about 70 mph to over 170 mph, with straightaway speeds nearing 200 mph possible with fastest cars and motorcycles.

All racers will receive unlimited track time, transponders, personal time reports and driving helmets. Activities during the day will include a continental breakfast and BBQ lunch, opportunity drawing with exciting prizes, music, and fun.

This year’s Track Day Invitational provides an exciting and safe environment, while raising crucial funds for JDRF.  Each year, more than 15,000 children and 15,000 adults – approximately 80 people per day – are diagnosed with type 1 diabetes (T1D) in the U.S. It comes on suddenly, causes dependence on injected or pumped insulin for life, and carries the constant threat of devastating complications.

Eric Brooks, President of L.A. Willow Springs Raceway is located at 3500 75th Street West in Rosamond. A suggested driver entry donation is $300 to $750. Lap sponsorships are available for $5, $10, and $25 per lap or at a flat amount for a favorite driver.
