Cayman Islands Stingray City Attraction

Our plans in helping Stingray City and educating those that work and visit the park.
ORANGE COUNTY, Calif. - May 20, 2014 - PRLog -- Stingray City in the Cayman Islands was created by fishermen of yesteryear’s, who cleaned fish and conch in the area, which then encouraged rays to feed on the droppings. Today it is one, if not the largest attractions in the Cayman Islands.

Stingray City, Cayman Islands

Cayman Business Directory has been highlighting the importance of such a park, and the importance of preserving the park by educating those who visit it for fun or work. In the past the number of rays were slightly higher, but we all have to remember rays are free to come and go from within the area, leaving numbers to rise and fall nature’s way, not human impact. In addition, feeding sharks have been known to visit the park occasionally, causing the number of rays to drop based on nature’s course.

Additionally in driving our agenda, Cayman Business Directory will be launching a new website featuring images of various stingrays, which will also be presented to local schools in hope of educating youngster the importance of rays within the park and around the islands. One of our capturing features is to have classes projects to come up with names for each ray, and also to drive home the importance of care and understanding when operating boats in the area.

Not often does it happen, but occasionally boats and rays meet, and always do the boat win. This can impact the number of rays in many ways, as it also attracts unwanted sharks to feed on injured rays, which can result in smaller rays avoiding the area due to fear.

Cayman Business Directory hopes to have the site functional in the coming months, and also hope to have on board various government departments that have interest or is directly effected by the park’s impact.
