Physics Teacher Trainer Earns Scholarship for her Energy in Education

American Association of University Women Recognizes Horvath’s Role in Inspiring the Sciences
COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - May 20, 2014 - PRLog -- See The Change USA is proud to announce Laura Horvath, See The Change USA Middle School Physics Teacher Trainer, has been awarded a $1,000 scholarship to pursue doctoral studies in Physics next year from The American Association of University Women (AAUW).   AAUW’s mission is advancing equity for women and girls through advocacy, education, philanthropy, and research.

Joann Oh, Chair of the local AAUW scholarship committee wrote in the acknowledgement email “We were impressed with your stellar academic record earned in tandem with your obvious concern for your four children... In addition, we were truly inspired by your much-needed work in developing middle school physics curricula and in teaching teachers how to present these ideas.  You are quite gifted both in a challenging STEM field and in communicating ideas.  You are obviously on a clear path to academic and professional success." Horvath said, “That was very humbling and encouraging to read from them!”

President and CEO of See The Change USA Dave Csintyan said “It is an honor to add my voice to the accolades Laura is receiving for her academic and parenting prowess. The balance she possesses in balancing work-life challenges renders her an empathetic mother, teacher, and student and she wears all those hats very well.
