Eric Hoffer Award 2014 Book Winners

TRENTON, N.J. - May 19, 2014 - PRLog -- May 19, Trenton, NJ – The Eric Hoffer Book Award committee has released its 2014 winners, including the Eric Hoffer Grand Prize for books, The Entrepreneur Mind by Kevin D. Johnson from Johnson Media. From the US Review of Books award coverage: “… and like Hoffer, Johnson delivers succinct and up-to-date answers with a somewhat iconoclastic approach.”

Chairman/Author Christopher Klim has stewarded the Hoffer from its humble beginnings to one of the largest international book awards. “The competition has been outstanding,” Klim said. “Dozens of great independent and small press books will be recognized.”

On Tuesday, tragedy struck the Hoffer Award community when Rev. Robert J. Cormier (honorable mention in the spiritual category for Better Than We Believed) fell to this death while climbing on Mt. Hood, Oregon.

Prior to the grand prize selection, winners were selected in twenty-three all-inclusive categories, including:

* Best Academic Press: Where I Am Now by Robert Day (BkMk Press/Univ. of Missouri-Kansas City)

* Best Small Press:  Sophia Rising by Monette Chilson (Bright Sky Press)

* Best Micro Press: A Song of Praise for Shifu by Susan J. Byrd (The Legacy Press)

* Best Self-Published Book: Map of the Spirit by Michael F. Cantwell MD (Hillhaven Press)
