Michigan business associations honor small business advocates at legislative event
This year, the associations will honor two elected officials, one state department director, and one state staff member for their dedication in tackling issues that affect Michigan’s small businesses. Honorees include:
· State Representative Eileen Kowall (R. 44th District) of Oakland County
· State Senator Mike Green (R. 31st District) from the Thumb Region
· Michigan Department of Environmental Quality Director Dan Wyant
· Chris Priest, senior strategy advisor - Office of Governor Rick Snyder
Bonnie Bochniak, vice president of government relations for MBPA and MFBA, said the four state leaders are being recognized for their work in supporting a wide range of initiatives, including two recently-enacted pieces of legislation;
The legislative reception provides MBPA and MFBA members an informal opportunity to become better acquainted with state lawmakers and to publically recognize individual officials for championing issues important to the small business community.
