CLEARWATER, Fla. - May 18, 2014 - PRLog -- Six area chefs will join the Executive Chef at the Fort Harrison for the 2nd Annual Chef’s Showcase on June 1st. The event, which is co-hosted by Tampa Bay Magazine, features a seven-course meal with wine pairings. The theme for the dinner is “American Colonial: Modernized.”

The event is being held in the Crystal Ballroom of the historic Fort Harrison in downtown Clearwater. Participating chefs include: Chef Sean Ragan – Chef de Cuisine at the Sandpearl Resort on Clearwater Beach; Chef Andrew Coniglio – Executive Chef at the Innisbrook Golf Resort; Chef Brian Vroman of the Seven Springs Golf Club; Chef Viet Vo of the Art Institute of Tampa; Chef William Brown – founder of William Dean Chocolates; Chef Asbel Reyes of Gourmet Foods International, Atlanta.

Chef Zoltan Vajna, the Executive Chef at the Fort Harrison, is overseeing the menu and coordinating the chefs. Chef Zoltan will be contributing his own course, a smoked salmon roll appetizer with a sweet corn pancake and garnished with caviar.

The dinner costs $100 per person, with the funds going to the Clearwater Community Volunteers. The Church of Scientology is sponsoring the dinner.

“This event is such an amazing experience,” said Chef Zoltan. “It is not a competition, all of the Chefs assist each other and it is very collaborative. The guests love the food and love the attention that the chefs give to each course.”

Pam Ryan Anderson, the Executive Director of the Clearwater Community Volunteers, says that the event gives the group a needed boost of funds to continue their programs to help the children of Pinellas and Hillsborough County.

“Through Winter Wonderland and the annual Coachman Park Easter Egg Hunt, we are able to help thousands of children and families throughout the area, and that is why I do what I do,” said Anderson. “Scientology founder L. Ron Hubbard said that ‘When children become unimportant to a society, that society has forfeited its future.’ There are children in need throughout this area, and through CCV, we can reach a lot of them.”
