Roger Bobb and Lisa Nicole Cloud Set to Host 2014 Caribbean American Movers and Shakers
2014 Caribbean American Movers & Shakers is set to take place on May 22 in midtown Atlanta. The event honors individuals of Caribbean heritage in metro Atlanta.
The annual “Movers and Shakers” recognition identifies professionals and civic minded individuals of Caribbean heritage, living in the metro Atlanta area, who have contributed to the multicultural community. This year's honorees include: Oscar Nominated and Grammy Award winning platinum producer of the song “Happy” Leslie Brathwaite, producer of “The Real Housewives of Atlanta” Princess Banton, Former Honorary Consul of Jamaica Vin Martin, Black Latino Council Atlanta Tina Hart, Director of Operations WRFG 89.3 FM, Wanique Shabazz, Southern Division President of Home Depot Ann-Marie Campbell, President of Panton Capital Holdings Dr. David Panton, President of Georgia Association of Elected Latino Officials (GALEO) Jerry Gonzalez, DJ and Radio Personality Chubb Rock, Medical Director of the Emory University Hospital Midtown, Radiation Oncology Department Dr. Karen Godette. This year we will be recognizing our Humanitarian of the Year: Garvin Stewart- Food For The Poor, and our Lifetime Achievement Award Honorees. Pola Cooper and Patrick Mc Bain, founders of the Atlanta Peach Carnival (aka Atlanta Caribbean Folk Festival.)
This year’s presenters include PR guru Saptosa Foster, CEO of the 135th St Agency, Lance Robertson, Black Latino Council, Senator Sean Michael Malone, Senate President of the U.S. Virgin Islands Legislature, and Sylma Bramble Brown with the Caribbean Tourism Organization. The list of invited guests includes; Cynthia Bailey, Sheree Whitfield, Kandi Burruss, Phadera Parks of the Real Housewives of Atlanta, Karlie Redd with Love and Hip and Hop, Councilman CT Martin, and many more.
Food for the Poor is the official charity for the 2014 Caribbean American Movers and Shakers Networking Series. The event will be hosted at luxurious Stir It Up Restaurant, which is under the direction of Jamaican Chef Chris; who has carefully created a menu to fit all types of palettes, reinventing Island Favorites with his signature sauces, bold spices, traditional techniques and recipes.
